The University Model
USCS provides a unique school setting that allows parents
and teachers to partner together in guiding students'
academic, social, and spiritual development.

Our elementary classes meet twice weekly in a traditional
classroom setting.  The kindergarten class has one teacher
for all subjects, including art.  First through sixth grades are
organized in combination classes (1st and 2nd, 3rd and 4th,
and 5th and 6th).  Each combination class has one teacher
for all core subjects, and a professional art teacher rotates
between these classes for Fine Art.  Parents are responsible
for teaching their students at home three days a week, using
easy-to-follow lesson plans provided by their child's teacher.

The secondary program offers a full course of study which
includes the following subjects:  Literature, Foreign
Language, Social Studies, Science, Fine Arts, Computer
Science, Biblical Studies, Math, Leadership, and a host of
other electives.  Students register for individual classes -
they may enroll for one class, or every class their schedule
will allow.  However, students are encouraged to take a
minimum number of classes so they can meet our
residency requirements for diploma, ranking, and transcript
purposes.  Each subject is taught by an experienced
classroom teacher who provides lesson plans for the
students to follow on home-instruction days (parental
instruction is minimal, as the lesson plans are geared
toward assignment completion and studying rather than the
introduction of new concepts).  Advanced classes in which
more instructional time is needed, such as Physics and
Calculus, meet at the school three times per week.

USCS is in the midst of the certification process with the
National Association of University Model Schools.  This
process will be completed by the end of this school year.
